“Reflections”
Reflecting Pond
With not much to do in Connecticut but hike, I find myself walking around this pond quite a bit. I thought this spot could be really visually interesting if I mirrored it on itself, especially with the clear reflection it projects onto the water. After editing the photo for a bit, I noticed that the tree in the middle created this area that looked like a doorway. I wanted to have some fun with this, so I decided to make a portal in between the branches.
As I reflect on this piece about reflection, I can’t help but think that this portal into the unknown is similar to the situation we are facing now. We have no idea where we will be in a week, or even a few months, but we just have to keep on keeping on and hope that we will end up on the other side of this okay (and maybe even in a better place than we were before).

Reflection
This digital collage is to celebrate the confidence we find in our reflection: Who doesn't have a quick peek in a store window when you walk down the streets? While this can be seen as vanity, I think we don't take enough time to give ourselves some self-love from time to time. I chose a colourful building to symbolize the celebration of oneself and framed the photo to focus on the "me" peeking through one of the windows. Both photos are original photos, the selfie is from an exhibition at the Henry Art Gallery in Seattle and the building is from New Orleans in the Frenchmen District.

Reflective Cities
This picture was kind of a happy accident when my sister and I were on a walk in downtown DC. I tend to check myself out in building windows (as we all do, admit it) but it was really cool to stop and look at what actually gets captured in those reflections and how what’s reflected becomes part of the design of the building itself.
